Dieumerci – *(*)

It’s difficult to get all the jokes without subtitles, but the main storyline is quite clear. An ex convict is released from prison and decides to follow up on his dream to become an actor. He enlists in an expensive acting class and needs to team up with a careless dude almost half his age. The two don’t get along in the beginning, but of course become the best of friends by the end of the story.

The only reason why you’d want to watch this movie is because of the charming performance of main lead (and director) Lucien Jean-Baptiste, who based the story on an episode in his life. However, most of the jokes are pretty lame. The young characters is annoying as hell. And the story itself not all that captivating.
